Inside - Turn off the water when you brush your teeth
- Shorten your showers by one or two minutes
- Use low-flow showerheads
- Fix leaky faucets
- Repair running toilets
- Wash only full loads of laundry
- Run only full loads of dishes
- Install low-flush toilets and water efficient washing machines
- Install a circulating pump, or an instant hot, or a tankless water heater to get hot water faster
Tips on How to Save Water
Outdoors- Washing your car: Use a hose with a turn off at the nozzle. Use a bucket of soapy water. Soap the car and quickly hose down
- Use a professional or a self-serve carwash using recycled water only
- Water your landscaping only early morning (before 6 a.m.) or evening (after 8 p.m.)
- Do not use your hose to water-sweep concrete driveways, patios and sidewalks. Use a broom.
- Repair broken sprinkler heads
- Install an efficient irrigation system to reduce overspray
- Install drip irrigation when possible to avoid water evaporation
- Plant drought tolerant plants and native plants
- Mulch your landscaping to reduce evaporation
- Turn off irrigation systems when rain is forecast
- Use insulated pool covers
